PMMA (ACRYPET)
ACRYPET is the trade name of Mitsubishi Rayon's acrylic resin molding compound (PMMA).The PMMA is used, among other things, for large scale molding such as display panels, bathtubs, automotive parts, household electric appliances, optical equipment, and various other fields of daily life because of the many superior properties.

ACRYPET IR series are impact resistant grades. The materials contain impact modifier (acrylic rubber) inside to enhance impact strength of final products.The final products made by the IR series have very beautiful appearance. Thus, The grades are suitable for the applications require Impact Strength and Appearance simultaneously.
There are ACRYPET IR grades suitable for capstock.It gives good impact strength as well as excellent weatherability.

Mitsubishi Rayon produces PMMA in Japan, Thailand and will start producing in China in 2003, as the first PMMA manufacturer type in China wholly owned by foreign capital.The new plant in China is hoped to start operation in the autumn of 2003. Production capacity will be 40,000 tons per annum. The state-of-the-art production facilities, utilizing a continuous polymerization method with a high bulk conversion rate, will be of the world's largest scale for a single production line.
